Alcohol believed to be a factor in Steuben County motorcycle crash

STEUBEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Officials in Steuben County are investigating a crash that sent one man to the hospital in a medical helicopter.
On Wednesday, at approximately 10:13 P.M., Steuben County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident at CR 150 W and south of CR 800 N.

When emergency response vehicles arrived, they found a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle that was involved in a single vehicle accident. Emergency response units found a male laying on the side of the roadway. During the investigation of the crash it was found that the motorcycle was driven by Jeffrey Bauhof, 40 of Fremont, Indiana was traveling south on CR 150 W when he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed.

Jeffrey was then airlifted by Samaritan Air to Parkview Regional Medical center in Fort Wayne, Indiana for treatment of injuries. Jeffery was not wearing a helmet and alcohol is believed to be a factor. The crash is still under investigation.
