Amtrak cancels some Indiana service after lawmakers refuse to pay

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The folks who take Amtrak in Indiana are losing some trains.

Amtrak yesterday said it is canceling the Hoosier State line, which runs four times a week between Indianapolis and Chicago.

Indiana lawmakers refused to include a subsidy for the trains in their latest budget. Amtrak says people can still ride the Cardinal line, which runs from Indianapolis to Chicago three times a week.
