INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The list of healthcare professionals that can refuse abortion services based on religious and moral objections could be expanding in Indiana.
A bill passed by the Legislature would allow nurses, pharmacists, and physician assistants to opt out of abortion care. The measure means pharmacists could refrain from filling a prescription for an abortion-inducing drug.
The bill now heads to Governor Eric Holcomb’s desk for signing.
