FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department was busy Saturday afternoon handling a structure fire on Young Road.
Crews arrived to the 7800 block around 4:30 to find large flames shooting from a workshop that doubled as a storage building.
Crews pulled hose lines to extinguish fire that was mainly located at the rear of the building, hoping to knock down the heavily involved in fire. While trying to extinguish fire the rear of the building collapsed.
No firefighters were injured in the collapse but fighting the fire became more difficult.
The fire was brought under control in around an hour using heavy equipment to pull the building apart and extinguishing flames as they were exposed. There were no injuries reported and the cause is under investigation.
