FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – City leaders in Fort Wayne say the city’s tap water may smell, but they say it’s safe to drink. Residents started complaining that there’s an odor to their water Wednesday.
City spokesman Frank Suarez says the water is safe. He blames the smell on runoff from warmer temperatures and melting snow.
Suarez added that City Utilities has a section on its website where residents can check the quality of their water.
have a website available to check the quality of the city’s water. You can find that here
It currently lists the city’s water as “organic.” Saying that,
“Customers begin to notice a taste and/or odor in the water that may be described as organic, swampy, grassy, sweet, medicinal, fishy or rancid.”
