Driver arrested with blood alcohol level four times the limit

VIGO CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – At approximately 4:50 p.m., on May 8, 2019, Trooper Andrew Mattern was patrolling near US 41 and Harlan Drive when he stopped a KIA Optima passenger vehicle for unsafe lane movement. The driver was identified as Holly C. Roshto, 54, of Terre Haute.

A driver’s license check revealed that Roshto was a habitual traffic violator (lifetime). Trooper Mattern also detected the odor of alcoholic beverage coming from Roshto. Several field sobriety tests were administered, and Ms. Roshto failed each test. Roshto was then read implied consent by Trooper Mattern, in which she agreed to take a certified chemical test.

Upon arriving to Regional Hospital, Ms. Roshto was administered a certified chemical test, which showed that she had a BAC .32%. Due to her high level of alcohol, Ms. Rosto was required to wait for medical clearance from a doctor. During this time Roshto became belligerent, yelling loudly and using vulgar language. Trooper Mattern and the hospital staff directed Roshto, on several occasions, to discontinue her behavior due to the fact that it was disturbing other patients. Immediately upon Ms. Roshto being medically cleared, she was then placed under arrest and taken to the Vigo County Jail where she is currently being held on bond.
