FWPD says no footage yet found of would-be robber in clown mask

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police are investigating an attempted bank robbery that took place at the Partners First Federal Credit Union, 5020 Riviera Ct. Thursday morning at 11:38 a.m.
Investigators say a male suspect wearing a clown mask approached the credit union and attempted to gain entry into the lobby.

The interior lobby door was locked by credit union personnel and the suspect fired shots into the interior lobby door. No one was injured and the suspect fled the credit union in an unknown direction of travel. The lobby employees and customers also fled the bank and
ran across Clinton St. to a neighboring business.
After reviewing surveillance video, detectives found no relevant images of the suspect. The camera angle was off and only captured the suspect from the knees down. Detectives are canvassing surrounding businesses to see if any of those cameras were able to capture anything of significance.

Investigators are hopeful that citizen’s in this area might have seen something that stood out which
could be very beneficial to the investigation. They are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP (436-7867).

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Bank Robbery Task Force.
