Home damaged, family displaced southwest of downtown

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – FWFD officials say one adult and two children are now being assisted by the Red Cross after fire damaged their home. The Fort Wayne Fire Dept. responded to a reported house fire at 2131 Fox Avenue Thursday. The first Engine arrived on the scene in just two minutes from the time of the alarm, at 10:39 a.m.

They found a medium two-story house with light brown smoke coming from the structure. Firefighters made entry into the house where they found a fire in an upstairs bedroom. The fire was placed under control in about ten minutes. It was reported that no one was home at the time of the fire. A family cat was found inside the home safe and returned to the owner.
No injuries were reported and the fire remains under investigation.
