FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Today is Opening Day for Major League Baseball’s 119th season and nothing pairs better with baseball than a hot dog, so a couple of local restaurants are offering deals.
A pair of Fort Wayne eateries will offer free or reduced-price hot dogs Thursday to celebrate the first day of the Major League Baseball season.
Skyline Chili is offering a free Cheese Coney with the purchase of a beverage all day.
Opening just a couple years ago, Skyline in Fort Wayne is located at 4021 Ice Way. In Cincinnati, Skyline is known as the “official” chili of the Cincinnati Reds
And over on Coldwater BurgerFi will offer up to two Vienna Dogs per person for $1 each.
For those who are actually more excited about the games – all 30 clubs are in action today. Starting with the Yankees and Orioles in the Bronx and the Mets and Nationals in D.C. The Phillies and new star Bryce Harper open at home against the Braves, while the World Series champion Red Sox close out the night in Seattle. The Mariners are 2-and-0 after beating the Oakland A’s twice in Japan last week.
