INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – High school students in Indiana will still take a civics class and citizenship test, but they won’t need to pass the test in order to graduate.
The Indiana House’s education committee last week stripped-out part of a proposal that would have required students to pass a citizenship test in order to get a diploma.
Local schools instead say it’d be better to offer the same citizenship test that new citizens take during already-required civics classes.
