INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Indiana lawmakers want to make it clear: Teachers are not to be shot during school safety drills.
Lawmakers added that provision to a piece of legislation earlier this week. Senators say they had to act after complaints from teachers in Monticello that police shot them with small plastic BB’s during a drill back in January.
The new addition also bans officers from shooting students or other school employees.
