FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say one man is dead after being hit by a vehicle early Saturday morning.
Just after 3 a.m., officers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck just north of the intersection of Hanna St. and E. Creighton Ave. Officers arrived and located an adult male down in the street, appearing to have been struck by a vehicle. Medics pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.
Officials with the FWPD say it is unclear what happened, other than the male was struck while in the street. There were no other vehicles or persons around when officers arrived. Investigators processed the scene, searching for any evidence that could help identify the vehicle that struck the male.
The exact cause and manner of death, as well as the victim’s identity, will be released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office when appropriate to do so.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police.
