Nearly two-dozen pounds of drugs recovered in Mercer Co event

CELINA, Ohio (ADAMS) – According to the Mercer County Sheriff, nearly two-dozen pounds of unwanted drugs were collected over the weekend as part of a national push.
In conjunction with the Saint Henry Police Department, participated in the National Drug Take Back event on Saturday, April 27, 2019.
The event was held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Main Street in the Village of Saint Henry. “It was a very good turnout Saturday, probably one of the better ones we’ve seen recently. We collected over 20 pounds of unused, unwanted, and expired prescription pills.”

The Drug Enforcement Administration will pick up all drugs collected by the Sheriff’s Office. The total amount collected since the last National Take Back Event, which was held on October 27, 2018, is over 134 pounds. The public is reminded that unused prescription drugs can be dropped off at any time in the Sheriff’s Office lobby. “There are several take back events held throughout the year, but there’s no need to wait to get rid of the drugs you don’t need.”
