FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – FWPD officials say that one man is in critical condition after a shooting Monday night. Around 8:00 pm officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the area of the 3200 block of South Hanna in reference to a possible shooting.
Officers were being advised that the callers were reporting hearing multiple gunshots in the area. Officers were also advised that witnesses had stated that they believed that the victim had possibly been loaded into a vehicle and then left the scene.
Upon arrival, they began to get additional information from witnesses and Communications had received a call that the victim was being transported to a local hospital by private vehicle.
A short time later the victim (an adult male) arrived at the hospital and was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and was listed in critical condition by the Emergency Room Physician.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians were called to the area of Weisser Park, where the incident is believed to have taken place at. Detectives were canvassing the area speaking with possible witnesses and Crime Scene Technicians were processing the scene for evidence associated with this incident.

Portions of Weisser Park and Eckart were closed to all traffic. The roadways will be open upon all Police Personnel clearing the area.
This incident is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department, and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
