Police continue investigation into fatal hit and run

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne Police continue to investigate after a deadly hit and run over the weekend.

Just after 3 a.m., officers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck just north of the intersection of Hanna St. and E. Creighton Ave. Officers arrived and located an adult male down in the street, appearing to have been struck by a vehicle. Medics pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.

Monday morning, the Allen County Coroner identified the man as Marvin D. Hudson, 48 years, from Fort Wayne.

He died from multiple blunt force injuries and his death was ruled accidental.

Officials with the FWPD say it is unclear what happened, other than that Hudson was struck while in the street. There were no other vehicles or persons around when officers arrived. Investigators processed the scene, searching for any evidence that could help identify the vehicle that hit him.

They found parts leading them to believe a grey or pewter SUV or pickup truck was involved. Police say that this vehicle will likely have damage that will be noticeable.

They ask that if you know anything, to call Fort Wayne Police at 427-1373 or 427-2240, or Crime Stoppers 436-STOP (436-7867).

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
Marvin D. Hudson is the 11th fatal motor vehicle crash in Allen County for 2019.
