WELLS CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Department of Transportation says that signal improvements planned along S.R. 1 in Wells County will start this week. Beginning on or after Tuesday, April 9, INDOT contractor, Michiana, is scheduled to begin working on several locations, weather permitting.
The project consists of installing new signal heads, cabinets and other upgrades at most signalized intersections on S.R. 1 between Spring Street in the City of Bluffton to Mill Street in the Town of Ossian, excluding Capri Court and C.R. 1100 N.
Drivers may see lane restrictions during the work at each intersection.
The project also includes the installation of flashing yellow arrows (FYA) on left-turn signals at specific intersections. Motorists should expect to encounter temporary daytime lane restrictions in both locations. Some overnight work may be needed.
Intersections receiving new FYA signals include:
SR. 1 at S.R. 124 (south junction)/Division Street
SR. 1 at S.R. 124 (north junction)/Dustman Road
SR. 1 at C.R. 200/Monroe Street
SR. 1 at Walmart Drive/Lowe’s Drive
