FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Weather is to blame for canceling this year’s SolFest.
Allen County Parks and Recreation announced Monday that its annual music festival scheduled for this weekend, May 4 and 5, has been canceled due to flooding and safety considerations.
Officials with Allen County issued the following statement:
“Due to the rain in the past week, weekend and more forecast for the rest of this week our roads, emergency exit routes and festivals areas are all underwater at this time, said Park Superintendent Jeff Baxter. For the safety of our visitors we feel this is the best course of action. We did not make this decision lightly as it is our fundraiser for the Youth Scholarship Fund. The festival will not be re-scheduled for this year.”
