SOUTH BEND, Ind. (ADAMS) – One apartment complex in South Bend is turning to science to see who cleans up after their dog.
Managers at the Riverside North Apartments this month told the folks who live there that they will be swabbing dogs for DNA, to build a database to catch people who do not pick up their dog’s poop.
A service, called PooPrints, handles the DNA collection and testing. Pet owners who do not clean up after their dog will face a $150 fine.
