FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Embassy Theatre is launching Spring Forward Fest, a new multi-venue music and arts event in downtown Fort Wayne. The concept won the Downtown Improvement District’s “new events contest.”
The free celebration is Saturday, March 9, from 6-10 p.m. The family-friendly festival is scheduled for the final day of standard time prior to the annual time change. Spring Forward Fest will serve as the community’s Daylight Saving Time kick-off.
“We are looking forward to welcoming guests, celebrating springtime and showcasing our city in a brand-new light,” said Kelly Updike, president and CEO of the Embassy Theatre. “We invite the community to welcome the annual time change with a visit to Spring Forward Fest.”
Guests are encouraged to visit three downtown destinations: Embassy Theatre, Ash Skyline Plaza and Parkview Field. Each location is an entertainment hub featuring popular local musical acts. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at each location.
Spring Forward Fest locations and musical performers include:
· Embassy Theatre featuring music by Bloody Tambourine and the Musical Mafia
· Ash Skyline Plaza featuring DJ Adam Meyer with light projections by Alec Johnson
· Parkview Field featuring music by James and the Drifters plus fireworks at 10 p.m.
Spring Forward Fest patrons will receive colored LED novelty wearables (while supplies last). Patrons are encouraged to walk between venues or utilize a free trolley. The evening will culminate with a fireworks display.
