Study: Over 1,200 bridges in Indiana are structurally deficient

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – A new study reveals over 1,200 Indiana bridges are considered structurally deficient.

That’s six percent of the bridges in the state.

INDOT says they invest around $400 million dollars in bridge projects each year. Still, only approximately 140 of the 12-hundred deficient bridges are INDOT’s responsibility.

Those 140 will see significant repairs in the next few years.
