Truck driver’s death ruled as suicide

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say a man took his own life inside a semi-truck off Bluffton Road earlier this month.

FWPD officials say that on March 14, just before noon, officers responded to a medical assist for a male inside of a semi-truck located at 9138 Bluffton Rd at Premier Trucking.
When police arrived they were directed to a semi-truck on the lot. Inside the truck was a male adult who was unresponsive and later determined to be deceased by medics and fire personnel. The death appeared to be by hanging. The scene was secured by officers and the Coroner’s Office was called as was the Fort Wayne Police Department Detectives and Crime Scene officers.

Once on scene, an officer from the Coroner’s Office took over the investigation.
FWPD officials say that based upon the evidence documented at the scene and the coroner’s forensic investigation, the Allen County Coroner’s office determined the cause of death to be asphyxiation, and manner of death ruled a suicide.
