FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A Waynedale home sustained heavy smoke damage following a fire Monday afternoon.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to the report of a residential structure fire around 1:15 p.m. in the 2100 block of Rehm Drive.
A crew arrived within 3 minutes and found the back of a one-story home on fire. They pulled a hand line for fire attack and to search the home for occupants and animals.
Other units arrived and helped put out the fire which appeared to have started in a family room. The homeowner was in the back yard when he saw smoke coming from his house and called 911.
No injuries were reported and the fire was under control in 14 minutes. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
